Meows Terms of Service

Thank you for using Meows, a screenshot organization and inspiration management application operated under the aicoding.club project.

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Meows, including our mobile application, websites, and related services (collectively, the "Service").

By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. Who We Are

Meows is developed and operated by an independent developer under the brand AI Coding Club.

2. Description of the Service

Meows is a tool that helps you:

  • Organize and browse your screenshots and related images
  • Extract text from screenshots using optical character recognition (OCR)
  • View your content in different layouts (for example, calendar-like timelines)
  • Optionally sync certain data across devices
  • Optionally use artificial intelligence (AI) features to search, categorize, or surface inspiration

The specific features available to you may change over time as we improve or update the Service.

3. Eligibility

To use the Service, you must:

  • Be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age required by the laws of your country or region), and
  • Have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement with us

If you are using the Service on behalf of another person or organization, you represent and warrant that you have the authority to bind that person or organization to these Terms.

4. Your Account

To access certain features, you may need to create an account.

You agree to:

  • Provide accurate and up-to-date information when creating your account
  • Keep your login credentials secure and confidential
  • Be responsible for all activities that occur under your account

5. Your Content

"Your Content" means any data, text, images, screenshots, notes, tags, or other materials that you upload, import, capture, or otherwise make available through the Service.

You retain all rights to Your Content. We do not claim ownership over it.

However, by using the Service, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to:

  • Store, process, and display Your Content as necessary to provide the Service
  • Create temporary or processed copies (for example, OCR text, thumbnails, or embeddings) for technical and functional purposes
  • Use aggregated and anonymized data derived from Your Content to improve and analyze the Service (without identifying you personally)

This license is solely for the purpose of operating and improving the Service, and it ends when Your Content is deleted from our systems, subject to reasonable backup retention periods.

6. Screenshot Processing and AI Features

6.1 Local and Cloud Processing

Meows is designed to process screenshots locally on your device whenever feasible.

If you enable optional features such as cloud sync or AI-assisted search, Your Content (including screenshots or extracted text) may be transmitted to:

  • Our servers or trusted infrastructure providers
  • Carefully selected third-party AI providers

We aim to minimize the amount of data transmitted and to handle it according to our Privacy Policy.

6.2 Third-Party AI Providers

Some AI features may rely on third-party artificial intelligence providers.

By enabling these features, you acknowledge that:

  • Relevant portions of Your Content may be sent to these providers to generate outputs
  • The processing of that data is also subject to the providers' own terms and privacy practices

We will make reasonable efforts to choose providers with appropriate security and privacy standards, but we cannot control their systems.

7. Acceptable Use

You agree not to misuse the Service.

In particular, you must not:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful, harmful, or fraudulent activity
  • Upload or share content that is illegal, abusive, defamatory, or violates the rights of others
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any system, account, or data
  • Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of our servers or networks
  • Circumvent or attempt to circumvent any access or usage limits
  • Use automated tools (for example, bots or scripts) in a way that overloads or harms the Service

We reserve the right to investigate and, where appropriate, suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

We are not responsible for and do not endorse:

  • These features may be incomplete, may change at any time, and may be discontinued without notice
  • They are provided "as is" and may have different performance or reliability characteristics

We also reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service, temporarily or permanently, with or without notice.

Where reasonably possible, we will try to give advance notice of significant changes.

10. Fees and Payments (If Applicable)

At the moment, Meows may be provided free of charge or with limited functionality.

If we introduce paid plans or in-app purchases in the future:

  • We will clearly explain the pricing, billing terms, and any renewal conditions
  • You will have the choice whether to subscribe or purchase paid features
  • Additional terms may apply to paid features, and those terms will be presented to you at the time of purchase

11. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its design, user interface, software, text, graphics, and other content (excluding Your Content), is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws.

Subject to your compliance with these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to:

  • Install and use the Meows app on your devices
  • Access and use the Service for your personal, non-commercial purposes (or for internal use if you are an organization)

You may not:

  • Copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of the Service
  • Reverse engineer or attempt to extract the source code, except where permitted by law
  • Use our trademarks, logos, or branding without our prior written permission

12. Disclaimer of Warranties

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis, without warranties of any kind, express or implied.

We do not guarantee that:

  • The Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free
  • Any defects or errors will be corrected immediately
  • The Service will meet your specific requirements or expectations

You use the Service at your own risk.

We recommend that you keep separate backups of important content wherever possible.

13. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law:

  • We shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, profits, or revenues, arising out of or related to your use of the Service.
  • Our total liability for any claim arising out of or relating to the Service or these Terms will not exceed the amount you have paid to us for the Service in the twelve (12) months preceding the event giving rise to the claim (or, if you have not paid us, then fifty United States dollars (USD 50) or the equivalent).

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions or limitations of liability, so parts of this section may not apply to you. In that case, the limitations will apply to the greatest extent permitted by applicable law.

14. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless AI Coding Club (and its developer(s), affiliates, and service providers) from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or related to:

  • Your use of the Service
  • Your violation of these Terms
  • Your violation of any applicable law or any rights of another person or entity

15. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time and, where applicable, delete your account.

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service if:

  • You materially violate these Terms
  • We are required to do so by law or by a court order
  • Continuing to provide the Service is no longer commercially or technically feasible

When your access is terminated:

  • Your license to use the Service ends
  • We may deactivate or delete your account and associated data, subject to our legal obligations and backup retention policies

Sections that by their nature should survive termination (for example, intellectual property, limitation of liability, and dispute-related provisions) will continue to apply.

16. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time.

When we make material changes, we will:

  • Update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page, and
  • Provide additional notice where appropriate (for example, in the app or by email)

Your continued use of the Service after the updated Terms become effective will constitute your acceptance of the changes.

If you do not agree to the new Terms, you should stop using the Service.
